North American Bear Paw Basic PatternThe North American Bear Paw is a creation born out of my many years of quilt making. The basic idea for it began many years ago with the block used in my Shattered Glass pattern. That block can also be found in my Briar Patch pattern, twisted around over and over to give a spiraling effect, and in my Mariner's Star pattern, where it is placed in a circle design surrounded by stars. When I created the North American Bear Paw I took the very same block, designed a new layout, and accented something new: the Bear Paw. The North American Bear Paw pattern was designed using a combination of the foundation paper units from three of my other patterns: Instructions and yardage requirements are included for the quilt shown on the cover sheet plus the three additional sizes listed in the yardage chart on the back page. If you choose to make a larger quilt you will need to purchase extra foundation papers. The extra foundation papers are sold in separate packages. These packages include the extra foundation papers needed to enlarge this pattern to the size listed on each package. This pattern option includes the North American Bear Paw Basic Pattern which includes enough foundation papers to complete the layout as shown on the cover sheet above. PepperdishThe 2012 Pepperdish is a redesign of one of our staples, originally published in 2005. The pattern involves updated directions that improves organization, makes color selection easier, utilizes template layout sheets, and includes floating points. A number of other features that we incorporate into our patterns including updated labeling approaches, shading of the units to show where dark and light fabrics go, and speed cutting and piecing processes have also been added! Prairie StarThe Prairie Star pattern was designed for Foundation Paper Piecing. This pattern includes all of the foundation papers needed to complete the quilt. In her remake of the popular Hawaiian Star pattern, Judy Niemeyer has adapted earth tone fabrics using the traditional Lone Star pattern into yet another masterpiece for foundation paper piecing. By blending color, texture, and value when selecting fabrics to use for the quilt, Judy successfully achieved a warm, bold, and dramatic look, reminiscent of life on the prairie. This pattern only includes enough foundation papers to complete the 85" by 85" quilt shown on the cover. Extra foundation papers are not available to expand the size of this quilt into a larger layout but you can purchase extra foundation papers to complete a duplicate of this quilt. Size: 85" by 85" |
Rain Drops Basic PatternBradley and Judy Niemeyer designed the layout and foundation pieces for Rain Drops from a collection of 20 bright and 10 dark batiks designed by Hoffman Fabrics. A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units. Curved piecing and traditional piecing skills are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed. This pattern option includes the Rain Drops Basic Pattern which includes enough foundation papers to complete the layout as shown on the cover. Quilt Size: 70" by 80" |
Rain Drops Extra FoundationsThis package includes enough extra foundation papers so that when included with the original pattern, the size can be increased to 100" by 100". Included in the instruction sheet are cutting instructions and yardage requirements for six different sizes. These sizes are 80" by 90", 90" by 100", 100" by 100", 100" by 110", 110" by 110", and 110" by 120".
