Bradley and Judy Niemeyer designed the layout and foundation pieces for Dragon Star. A collection of fabrics designed by Hoffman Fabric of California were used to make both samples shown on the cover page. A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units. Curved piecing and traditional piecing skills are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed.

A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units.  Curved piecing and traditional piecing skills are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed.

This option includes enough foundation papers, when included with the Drunkard's Wave Basic Pattern, to increase the layout to 88" by 88" as shown on the cover sheet to your left. Included are directions for making two size layouts, 70" by 88" and 88" by 88"

The Gooseberry Garden pattern is one of several patterns designed using a Flying Goose block created for foundation paper piecing by Judy and Bradley Niemeyer. Sheryl Mycroft and Judy Niemeyer designed the setting and color layout for this quilt. The placement of color on each block is what forms the unique setting forming the four baskets in the center of the quilt.  Finishes at 48" X 48"
