Bear TracksOur Bear Tracks pattern sets Bear Paw blocks with Nine-Patches for a fresh look. It's easy to put together but looks complicated! The pattern offers 2 different sizes, both using an assortment of 20 Dark prints. Remember that “Dark” is relative—your Dark prints could be pastels or brights! They just need to contrast with your Background. Select the Dark prints from 3 or 4 color families—some variation in value is fine. You need 1/2 yard each for the small quilt or 5/8 yard each for the large quilt. Nifty Nine PatchesThis quilt is really fun and easy to make! Nine-patches are set in a square-in-a-square block, surrounded by sashing. Then add courthouse steps blocks and a fun pieced border. This quilt uses a variety of colors and a fairly broad range of values. There is really no background, so the prints you use need to show up against each other. You will need 5/8 yard each of 16 or 22 assorted prints selected from 3 or 4 color families, depending on which size you make. You'll also need 2-3/8 or 2-5/8 yards of one sashing print that will show up against your other fabrics.You may want to wait to select this until you make some of your blocksóyou'll be surprised by what looks the best! Simply FunSimply Fun is exactly that! This quilt is fun and easy to make, using simple blocks to create a striking quilt. You will need 5/8 yard pieces of 20 assorted prints. A good approach to selecting your fabrics is to choose 3 or 4 different colors to work with and then select a variety of prints in each color, keeping the prints fairly close in value. Keep in mind that these prints could be brights, pastels or anything you like. You'll also need 3-3/8 yards of one background print. Finishes at 84 X 98. |
Twice As NiceTwo sizes of stars give this quilt a lot of sparkle! You will need 1/2 yard or 5/8 yard each of 20 assorted prints selected from 3 or 4 color families, depending on which size you make. Try to keep these fairly close in value. You'll also need 1-1/4 or 1-7/8 yard each of two background fabrics with a slight difference in value—the lighter one will be used in the star blocks and the slightly darker one in the checkerboard.
