A collection of bright, medium, and dark batiks designed by Hoffman Fabrics of California were used to make the quilt shown on the cover. This quilt was designed for foundation paper piecing. Curved piecing and traditional piecing are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed. We have designed extra foundation papers for the following sizes: This pattern option includes the 4th of July Basic Pattern which includes enough foundation papers to complete the layout as shown on the cover. A Touch Of SpringA Touch of Spring was designed by Judy and Bradley Niemeyer. We wanted to add a quilt to our collection with a simple design, a traditional look, and a touch of elegance. A collection of fabrics designed by Hoffman Fabrics of California were used to make the quilt on the cover page. A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units. Floating Spikes and Template Layout Sheets were designed to help speed up the cutting and sewing process. Amazon StarJudy and Brad designed the Amazon Star for foundation paper piecing. A collection of Bali Batiks designed by Hoffman California Fabrics were used to make the quilt shown on the box cover. A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used to assemble the units required to make this quilt. A strip piecing technique designed for foundation paper is used to piece the Lone Star units. A template layout piecing technique that I teach for foundation paper piecing is used to piece all the border spikes, Mariner's Compass and circling spikes.
